Couple decent Blacktails...
« on: July 10, 2009, 09:01:38 PM »
Finally...I'm getting a few Blacktail bucks coming in, I've had a ton of elk and a few small bucks.  These boys still aren't the bucks I'm hoping to catch on camera but we're getting better.

That first buck is a pretty nice deer
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

Dang, those are dandy bucks.  I am going to have to get one of these trail camera's.  They have to help the scouting out some.  Just set up an hour prior to their arrival and wait.
Cut em!

No I'd take either of them with the bow but last year in the same area there were 4 bucks that would range from 110" to 130+".  I haven't seen any of those 4 bucks this year?  I don't put in much time in the local area for deer anyway, I like to chase the Okanogan Muley's in the late season and in the early season it's all about chasin the elk.

coonhound, looks like an easy pick of those bucks in that open country.  Lewis county is known for it,s large blacktail bucks as with cowlitz county, but the brush lets them die of old age before anyone can stumble onto them on a stormy day in rut.
