1;48 is a pretty standard rate of twist for muzzleloaders. Its kind of an in between rate.Fast enough to stabilize most conical bullets, and slow enough to stabilize roundballs. It's a do it all rate of twist, kinda like modified choke in a shotgun ,it does it all okay. My Lyman Trade Rifle has 1:48 and I am quite okay with it as is. I shoot 400 grain homecast maxi balls in it, on top of 70 grains of pyrodex select. Hope this is a help to you.
"SIGHT IN YOUR GUN WITH THE BULLET YOU INTEND TO HUNT WITH! Change the bullet and without a doubt, the point of impact will change!" No need to shout, I happen to agree with you. Why are you getting upset?
