Starting the long process of pelting last winter's coyotes

Thought I had better "Get er done" so I can start gearing up for this coming winter's coyote season. Couldn't find my draw knife so I used the pressure washer technique on these 6. After about the 3rd one I got the technique down so I didn't blow any holes in the hide!! Got quite a few more to go and the wife can't wait to get them out of the freezer since we're butchering 4 hogs this coming weekend. Having a hard time waiting for winter so we can start a new season. By the way what's up with 3 points for a westside coyote? Are the wetsiders such bad shots that they need handicapped? Maybe since Obama became president they think that for every coyote we shoot over here they deserve a point or two whether they go out or not. (Just a little ribbing to our westsiders)

Those hides look tubed. How do you wrestle with a pressure washer to de-flesh in there?  I presume that is how you are using it.

It would be a little difficult to explain and I'm not a expert by any means, There's several good websites that show how to skin but not many that show the tricks to do it right like washing them and shampooing them with shampoo for dry hair (keeps the hair from dulling out, don't use Dawn or other grease removing dishwashing soap)splitting the ears etc. Best bet would be to buy a DVD on it. It's not hard to do, just a little time consuming. There's some guys that can completely flesh out a skin in 5 min. I take about 60 minutes. or more. You can build your own stretchers and fleshing board all you need then is to decide what technique to use. Either a fleshing knife, pressure washer or both. Maybe one of the taxidermist's on board know of a source for a book or DVD.

I showed my son several times on different animals, and he was starting to get the hang of it.  Then he borrowed a dvd from a buddy of his, called "Practical Fur Handling" or something like that.  I watched it and as much as I hate to admit it, I learned a couple tricks from it myself!  It was nice to be able to rewind and watch parts of it again.  I don't know where you would find a copy, but it's online somewhere I'm sure.
