Partition Gold?
« on: July 24, 2009, 11:01:43 AM »
Maybe someone can help me with this.

I'm not quite ready to load my own hunting ammo just yet. So yesterday I went and bought a box of WInchester black box ammo, in 338 win mag. The bullet is a 250 grain Partition Gold. How does this differ from a regular nosler partition bullet?

The bullet is all darkish grey, with no copper jacket showing. Is the bullet coated? Around the tip, just below it rather, there is a faint ring. Thanks fellows.

Personally have not heard of the Partition Gold, but I would think you could search the Nosler website and find some info on it.
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.
If I ageed with you, then we'd both be wrong.

or the Winchester site.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Yeah, I looked and its kind of a cross between a Fail Safe and a partition bullet. Sounds pretty good to me

I googled this up:

Quote
Winchester Partition Gold
The Partition Gold evolved from recent collaboration between Nosler and Winchester. Compared to original Partition bullets, the partition is farther forward, to put more weight in the heel for deeper penetration. There's a steel heel cup and black oxide finish, as on Winchester's Fail Safe bullet.
May I always be the kind of person my dog thinks I am.
