Alaska fishing gear
« on: July 28, 2009, 08:31:40 AM »
I will be flying up this Thursday with the family and plan on sneaking out as often as I can up there. I will be there 3 weeks. So I'm bring my 10' woopin stik with 20 pound line, 7' ugly stik with 15 or 17 pound line not sure yet, and then I will bring another rod or two for back up along with reels. I just may have to buy a new set up for my trip  :dunno: :chuckle: As for gear I have picked up a mess of #5 vibrax in blue, green, orange, and fire, some with brass, nickel, and black blades, I have also picked up some 7/8 pixies in orange, red, green, and blue. Can anyone think of anything else fishing gear wise I should be bringing? I wish I could bring a net on the plain may have to buy one there and leave it at my father in laws. I did pack two fillet knives and stones also  :chuckle:

Do you think I will have any issue catching silvers and not pinks?

Sounds like a meat run so no need for net, just back up and bring them right up on shore, smack them in the nucket and go after another.  :chuckle:   Have fun and take some pics...
