Started in Jan.....hitting the Gym two to threedays a week, run 2.5 to 3 miles on the eliptcal and lifting a little. I got an Early season drop hunt to go on for nine days, plus I turn 4-0  next year and I'd like to hit the Down hill slide a little thinner thanI am now. Down about 25# and feeling better

Just got back from my am run. Been running , biking hiking hills with a pack and and quite frankly am tired of it but now it will be worth it. Heading over to the Blues tomorrow am for a scout trip so will see how good of shape I am in I guess. Like Cameron Hanes says we are trying to close the gap between us and the elk as much as we can! Good luck to all and keep at it. nwhunter

Been running 15 miles/week since April/May. As soon as I pick up my new boots later this month, I'm going to weight up the backpack and hike Badger Mountain end to end on Sundays (in addition to the running mileage).

On a side note, horn, if you cut too much protein out of your diet, you'll lose weight all right. It'll be the wrong kind of weight, though--it'll all be muscle.

Walking out the door.  Running 6 miles 3x a week. 8)  Aug1 - Aug31  NO MEAT!  Im veggie for one month!  Eating some fish but no other meat, I just wanna see if I can do it. Im gonna try loosing a few more lbs. before Sept. 8  and the High hunt.  Im day four and doing good.  Had Veg Yakisoba for lunch   :chuckle:  I would love for my first real meat to be fresh backstrap, with a side of 180" mule deer antlers  :chuckle:

Never been out of shape worked out since I was a teen much easier to maintain than to get into shape.

I walk the uphill road to my brother's house, down and back up 3 times a week.  about a mile each way.  I have never been a speed person, so that is not a concern.  Just stamina.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.

Had knee surgery in March, should be healed by now but now I have bursitis in my knee and hip.  Been eating better and lost 6 pounds in two weeks.

Well round is a shape right? :dunno: every year I say I am going to get in shape but never seem to be able to have the time and energy at the same time. so slow and steady will have to do again this year.

I'm better this year than the last few, I just went up this morning and put on about 8 miles in the high country to hang a stand over one of my favorite wallows.  Hanging the stand kicked my butt more than the hike.  Man it was wet, those stinking huckleberrries hold a lot of water when it's foggy...

Tons of elk sign, I can't wait...

Well that's some interesting hands-on work.  Most of what I do amounts to gently helping people that can't solve problems solve them in a way that looks like they did the work.  Average about 30 chinups a day, that seems to work for me.  Fall behind too far and I'll stay at the gym until I'm caught up to the average.

Sounds like something from a Quinton Tarentino movie... :chuckle:  How do you keep from getting kicked?
