Mountain Goat Pictures 8-6-2009
« on: August 06, 2009, 10:25:48 PM »
So alecvg and I went out bear hunting today.  We didn't see any bears, even though we did find some blueberries, and eventually it turns out that the trip turned into a goat picture trip instead of a bear hunting trip.  Here are some of the pictures.  We saw a total of 25 goats, but only 2 were close enough for good pictures.  Luckily, those 2 were both billies.

We first saw this decent billy:

We saw him again on the way out in close to the same spot:

While we were sitting on top of the mountain glassing for bears, I saw this young billy bedded down below us.  Eventually he got up to feed and I got close for some pictures.

Here are the videos I have, nothing too exciting, but I'll add them anyways.

It was fun to get to hang out with the goats yet again, especially when I did not see any bears.  I have attached a few more pictures from the trip, all of Alec except for the pics of the blueberries we found between 5000' and 6500'.  Overall we climbed more than 5400' and hiked over 12 miles.  It was a good, tough day, but a lot of fun.

Looks like you guys had an awesome day, cool pics. It doesn't look like it will be to much longer before the bears will be in the berries.
