Its just wood and fiberglass! Whats a new 24' boat cost, 50 grand+. Even if I put a new Mercuiser powertrain at about 10 grand I would still be alot ahead. My guesstment for wood and glass is $500. Paid $800 for the boat and sold the OMC crap for $600,I'm in the boat for $200. I'm 58 and this will be my last salmon boat! And I got more time than money!! Heres athe last boat I built, all fiberglass, built from molds. Fiberglassing don't scare me, itches yes, scare me no! LOL

Looks like a fun project, you'll get to make it your own, can't wait to see the finished porduct.  Wish I had talent to do that, I always find stuff all the time, that in my mind I say oh yea, I can do that, then I lose interest to quick.  Good luck..

Dave, the driftboat is "just about done". Like any boat project its never really done. A guy in Stanwood had the molds that I used for the DB. The Silverline I am just getting going on. Just a about ready to glass in the hole in the transom. Some people like ro tinker on cars or trucks, I like boats, lot less busted knuckles :chuckle:

Drift Boat the only took me 12 years to build

Now... I shouldn't talk. My projects certainly take longer than they should (according to the wife).  That boat looks like a lot to tackle.  'Wood rots in 12 years'.

I hope your efforts and successes are enjoyed much sooner than that.
