Humpy-mania has hit the Skagit River! I weighed in a lot of Humpies today for the Humpy-mania Derby that Morgan Creek Outfitters in downtown Sedro-Woolley is putting on. (I work there on the weekends.) I also saw 4 small Silvers that were caught. The humpies are on the smallish side right now. The biggest fish I weighed in was 5 lbs. 11 oz. The Silvers looked to weigh in at about 3 lbs.

The Samish River is putting out some nice Kings and a lot of Humpies. A 44 lb. King was reported to me today and I got to see the cell phone photos of it.

They were catching em from the beach at Brown's Point yesterday. Never seen so many people fishing on the shore of Puget Sound.

I can tell you that the Kings weren't in the Sammish yesterday afternoon. Damn harbor seal swimming around.

Now might be a good time to fish it. Before them sewer tasting things get to dark. I might stop in on my way home from work and see if I can get my hands on one for the fresh eggs. The meat will be given away at the river or whoever I can get to take it.

Remember the nets are in Sunday noon - Wednesday noon.
