Honey hole seems full
« on: August 17, 2009, 07:32:32 AM »
Here are a few of the 1300 pictures that I got from my 2 cameras over the past 3 weeks.  I would have more but the elk in one spot didn't like my camera placement and decided to move it and the other one's batteries ran out.  All in all not too bad from 2 cheap cameras.

A few more.  This spike seemed addicted to the flash.  I have over 100 of him point blank.

I am sure Keith is looking at those pics right now and saying "So that's what Elk look like"......  Nice pics Matt.... I know where those were taken.

Nice herd of elk, and looks as if the calves did well this year.

Almost every cow that I have seen in there has twins this year.  Must have been a good winter for them.

Nope them are calves.

The two trail cameras are about a mile apart.  So far as I can tell there are at least 3 elk that have been captured on each camera.

That is SE-30 mineral salt with Selenium.  Talked to a biologist in Idaho a few years ago, they have a program over there where they put it out for the elk.  They also used to seed the Clokum herd with it a few years back.  We put it out in 6 differnts spots in about a mile radius in July.  They stomp it in the ground pretty good and they hit it as soon as the snow melts in the spring.
