Check out this big dude..
« on: August 18, 2009, 09:10:49 AM »
So as we are waiting for capes to get back from the tannery, getting a little bored, we decided to mount up one for display.  A friend of mine gave us this rack and my partner added a couple drops to it so we can show customers that we can fix horns, put a little harder turn on his head, dug out a cape we had laying around and this is what happened.

Also added the new driftwood panels from McKenzie with a little habitat. I think they will be a great selling point. They did a nice job on the panels. Anybody try these yet?

This should turn a few heads when they come in to my store to buy hunting licenses this year don't you think? 28 inches wide, nice mass, a little trash... He got it about 20+ years ago. I saw the body on this critter and it was enormous! (hope he doesn't want his horns back :o )

Nice. I'm sure you'll get more than a few comments from customers walking into your store about where and when that bcuk was taken  ;)  :chuckle:

I love the deep forks on the right side!  Great buck, and great mount!

Let me get this right. Them drop tines are fake? Not sure I understood that right. How about some close ups of the work. How well did it blend?

Yes we added the drops. I will get some pics of the work.

We are located in Lincoln county. We do the work at a ranch between Davenport and Creston and I own the Department Store in Wilbur. That's were we have the buck. Not really our showroom but I sell hunting/fishing licenses here and thought it might drum up some business if we put this big guy on the wall. We are weekend warriors for now but we are getting more busy every year.

I drive through there often on my way to my property in Rice.  I am going to have to stop by and check it out and shake some hands.  Nice work!
