Loctite and Threadlocker on all bolts/screws!
« on: August 21, 2009, 02:57:33 AM »
I forgot to put loctite on all my bow bolts last year.  My sight and quiver bolts rattled loose a few times.  Of course I left my hex wrench at camp!  :bash: My leatherman was not the best way to tighten loose bolts.  Just a friendly reminder  :)

Me too.  Too many bumps on those logging roads, loosened up a screw in my upper cam on my elk hunt last year.  I had to drive into Yakima and a local bow shop there (can't remember the name right now) saved my bacon!  I now have spare screws with me.

i like some string wax on teh threads instead of loctite. it will come apart easier when you need it to and stop rattling loose, and i check after each hunt too.

That's why, in my backpack I carry a pencil pouch with emergency needs for my bow:

String loop
Needle nose pliers
Serving String
lighter
Peep sight
Allen wrench set
String wax
String separating tool

Good luck

:yeah:  Thanks for all the extra ideas Fullabull...an extra peep!  Good idea.  Would be a long day driving all the way home for one.  Mine is pretty secure but it would just be my luck to lose the thing...

never trust anyone else that they tightened ur stufff after working on it, ( archery shop) there tight might be snugg, always check and recheck your bolts especially before u leave to go hunting,  and i mean all the bolts top to bottom. :twocents:
