your in a good area for bear......we lived out toward Darrington and there were bear out there I'd think any of the public land back in the foothills would be a good place to start.  Look for food sources bears are all about eating..... there are a ton of threads on here with lots of great information on finding bears.....good luck

I've heard good things about that area, but too far for me to go.

Get out in the woods, looking for the food sources.  Keep checking this section, lots of helpful photos posted.  I think I'm slowly learning.  Last year saw nothing, this year I'm doing better.  I've actually seen a couple of bears, but no shot yet.

 :yeah:

Head east into the foothills surrounding that area. Or north, or south... ;) You get the idea. Get some maps from DNR, drive about, hike, you'll get it soon after. Good luck!

berries, skunk cabbage, cat-tails, dead animals, salmon coming up creeks/streams, bears will eat just about anything. If you're looking for a good eater you might want to focus on more vegetarian food sources.

Right now look for ripe black berries/huckleberries/blue berries, and no people.
