Dayton unit Big bulls
« on: August 27, 2009, 08:15:56 PM »
What are the biggest bulls that have been seen in the Dayton 162 unit.  I have  been told there are some 380 class and atleast one 400 class?  Do you believe it and have you seen any this year?

they are in there, i beleive i have seen one that will at least push 380, and i have no doubts that 400 is an achievable number

Thanks for the response.  I have the rifle tag and I am doing some homework and looking for any leads I can find.  Any and all would be appreciated.

I can't say much about the area except that I drove around a little up there this past Winter with my cousin and saw the biggest bull I've ever seen.  That thing completely took my breath away and made me forget that there was a camera nearby that I WISH I would have picked up to snap a picture.  I'll never forget that bull that we stared at for a couple minutes at very close range from the pickup!  I wouldn't be surprised if that's the "400 bull" you heard about!

As I've said all along, 350, to me is the mendoza line. Anything under thaqt and it's a wasted tag. I was within 15 yards of one in March that would definitely push the 400 mark. Whether he survived the winter or not, I don't know, but there are some HUGE bulls out there.........You just need to be willing to put in the time and actually hunt. :twocents:
