Not many people know this, but Rip Caswell "the sculpter" is the son of Jesse Caswell, one of the most successful hound hunters ever in the west. He was from western Washington.
Although some people hated Jesse Caswell because he was so successful, I admired his abilty as a hound hunter. I hunted some of the same areas and saw him fairly regularly during bear season and lion season, he was a very good hunter. No matter what some people may say, you can't take away that the man was a great dog hunter.
