I polished up the chamber and ran another box of $4.99 trap loads through it and the sticking issue is gone.  No problems ejecting the spent cases.  The action is still pretty beastly but hopefully it with smooth out with use. 

There was a bit black paint like material in the chamber, the barrel finish I assume.  That was probably most of the problem.

if that doesn't go away take a look at the silver extractor, when I bought mine it had a little bur on it and made everything catch. I called remington about it and they sent me a new one no questions asked and that fixed my problem.

Shoot a case or two through it and see if you still a have the problem.

Good choice of shotgun! Cant say enough positive things about 870's. I have nothing new to say that has not already been said. Just keep shooting it! It will give you a long fun life!
