Someone on this site appears to be using up all his luck in one year... I won't spoil it for him, 'caus he'll probably do his own thread. He just got back from camp and called me.
(...don't worry, it's not a big bull. He didn't have a tag.)

Well I just got back after hunting hard for 2 1/2 days. Sadly enough during my scouting I bugled in a herd of elk in a different area than I normally hunt. I didnt want to push my luck in getting the bull to show himself, but got him into 30 yards as he chuckled back and bugled a few times at me. His cows were very vocal as well. Opening day I went back to this spot and the herd had moved off. Went in deep into the timber and didnt see an elk.
Hunted my normal area and had a shot at a 4 pt rag horn but he only offered a broadside gut shot, rest was covered by a tree. Had a herd sneek up on me quickly. I needed to draw my bow before the lead cow got to me. She was within 15 yards and caught my movement. Boom they were gone. That was it so far. Gonna hit it again soon.
