So I bought a peep sight online and there was some cheap serbian 30-30 ammo so I bundled it in on the package. Today I also bought a box of hornady and federal. All the rounds are 150 grain rounds. They are all FP bullets. The serbian ammo is the least quality looking as I expected, it's just to get rounds on paper with the new sight. The federal ammo looks slightly better. The hornady looks like somebody was extremely precise. There isn't excess lead on the side of the top of the bullet. The brass look far superior with a better color and shininess to it. My question is, (you knew it was coming, deal with it,) how much does the appearance in fit and finish influence these rounds? I always thought a better looking bullet would fly better and better looking brass is higher quality. Is this in fact the case?

savage 99 in 300 savage. great gun havent hunted with it yet but i am using it this deer season

Got the same gun. Killed my first buck with it 10 years ago.
I killed my first deer with this same gun. Borrowed at the time. Wished I owned it now!!!!

I now have a Marlin Golden 39A (.22) with a sweet peep after market from Skinner.  Shoots lights out, and is a fun, good in the hand rifle.
