Muck boots vs. Bog boots

Just wondering if any one here has experience with either of these companies. I know my wife sweats by Bog, but then I was wondering about Muck. Is there a difference or are they about the same in quality etc.

I don't have experience with either one, but the next rubber boots I buy are going to be xtratuff's. Have you heard of them? They're supposed to be great for walking in.

Sisu I have a pair of the Bogs Tillamook Bays. They are great for slipping on and doing things around the house especially when it is raining outside. I have also taken them hunting with me to throw on after I get out of my boots back at the truck. The only thing bad I could say about them is your feet do sweat and they are a little heavy.

I've used some of the muckboot line for a while and the wife and I love their stuff for around the farm but for wearing all day and for comfort I prefer the Extratuffs.  When I worked in Alaska we lived in our Extratuffs and they are the best for being waterproof and didn't leave my feet feeling worn out after being in them for 14-16 hours a day.

I walk all day everyday. Typically at least 5-7 miles. I need rubber boots for work and it's very hard to find a pair that is light and comfortable. And also actually has a good tread design.

I just bought some ankle high muck boots that were on sale at Cabelas and in 19 years of spraying they are the best boots I've ever found for work. The only complaint was that I had to put a bandaid on the top of my heel till the boots got a bit broke in and my ankle got used to the new boot. The second best were the Bogs.  The ones I got are not on the webbsite. They did last a LONG time. I usually go through 3 pair per year and the Bogs lasted me about half again or twice as long as other boots I have tried.  The pair I got were a bit soft soled so it hurt to walk on sharp rocks but overall they were really pretty good.  I'm not sure how long the Mucks above will last they are my first pair.

Over the years I've used all types of Waterpfoof hiking boots but the chems I spray destroy them, I've used regular rubber barn boots boot the is no ankle support so they don't work for what I do. I've also used regular shoes with rubber slip ons over them but it's just too heavy.

I love these two outfits, the products are a bit spendy but they really are good.

Thanks guys. I was looking at those two brands even though my son in law and daughter swear by Extratuffs. Fred Myer in Juneau had Extratuffs on sale when I was there. Buy one pair and getthe other for 1/2 price.

My buds run a Charter buisness for Halibut and salmon, he swears by Extra Tuff boots, all of the crabber guys wear them too.....

I am a fan of Muck boots from the knee high down to the under ankle version.  Am a shepherd and spend lots of time on my feet in the field.  Muck boots are close to wearing an sneaker as far as comfort goes.  I'm a bit too old but I swear a person could jog in them.  I wear mine right out of the box with no break in period.  They are water proof and warm in the winter and OK in the summer. I dont sweat in mine.

If they have an achilles heel it is bob wire and blackberry vines.  You cant kick your wear thru like wearing a leather boot.  I prefer the horse rider model which enables you to get the boot in a stirrup.  I dont ride but the fit is great.  I get a couple of years out of mine before the bottoms get smooth but I also put a lot of hours on them.
