I bought 3 packs of Thunder Head broad heads in 125grains. When I put them on my scale they wieghted in at 129.5 grains 

My point, I have been shooting 125 grain feild tips all year, and when I switched to practice with the broad heads, I was WAY off target. Now I realize that I haven't shot a bow in like 100 years, and know that broadheads will fly a little differant then field points but will be close to the same zero IF they both come in at the same weight. I was off like 8 to 10 inches.

I had a pack of Muzzey 125's and they wieghed out at 125. Looks like I'm going with the Muzzey's this year.

Has anyone eles found this with their broadheads???

I have a hard time believing 4.5gr. will have a 8-10" difference, even at 50 yards

Ya practice heads are with a darn.  Your better off using the real deal.

Thats why I weighed them..I couldn't belive it either..I have seen this with rifle ammo.  Same bullet weight, different companies ( Winchester vs Remington) different zero by 6 to 8 inches.

Anyway I rezeroed my bow with the 125 field tips, and then shot the 125 muzzeys with a 2 inch diff. I should say that the biggest different came at 30 yards.(thats my max. distance for this year)

I've yet to weigh a muzzy that weighed spot on.  I haven't weighed any of their better heads, but none of the 6 packs have ever weighed what they say.  Close, but no cigar.
I really don't think that small difference in weight would be the cause of your 8-10" difference.  More than likely you need to make a slight adjustment to your rest.  Get the easton tuning guide, and follow the broadhead tuning.  Should get ya closer.

You got it, 4grs ain't going to be noticed by the average shooter (not to imply anything) There is also the fact that some bows just don't like some heads

Field tips: My daughter 100gr got mixed up with my 125gr and I shot very close still. I will shoot for a few days before I make any sight adjustment to be sure it is the bow or me, when I got to looking at my tips I noticed they looked a little different and weighed them. Point being, I was surprised at how little difference 25 gr made; .still a difference thought

Maybe my bow just don't like the Thunder Heads. The muzzey's shoot right on.  From what ya' all are saying makes sence, I have never had an arrow shoot like that. Glad I found this before it got too late for the late hunt.

I shot Thunderheads a few years ago.  There isn't anything wrong with them - some guys do really well with them, but I do think that they're super finicky.  I had trouble making them shoot well, too.

I switched to G5s (Strikers and Montecs) with much better luck (they shoot in the same spot as my field points).  They are a shorter broadhead and (I think)  have less tendency to plane.

The good thing about the Thunderheads is that they're cheap.  However, I didn't think that it was enough to outweigh the aggravation that I had trying to make them shoot right.

i shot TH's early this year and there was a definate diference in flight between FP and BH's. switched to slick tricks and i am stoked with the outcome. uber flat shooting just like my FP's, a 100 grn TH did a number on my deer though. ten yards then piled up

i have a friend that shoots the th 125 he is a pretty good shot but when his bow is dead on with field tips its way off with them they tend to plane to the right and high and 5 grains is a paperclip diffrence i shoot 75grain field tips all year in 3d shoots but shoot 125 grain montecs out to 30 yards there is zero diffrence between my point of impact but i also shoot a 80lb pse xforce at 340fps and thats 50 grains of diffrence.

I used to shoot TH broadheads, even shot a few deer with them. But they always shot higher than my field points. Switched to G5 Montecs and LOVE them. Truly field point accurate.

I'd say if a couple grains makes that much difference, I'd get rid of the training wheels and shoot a real bow.One thing to remember in archery.The greater the distance shot...the greater margin of error.I shoot wasp 125's and have forever.But then recurves are very forgiving.GR
