Westside weeknight grouse?
« on: September 15, 2009, 10:51:20 PM »
Hey all, I'm new to the site.  I decided to join because your posts have been awesome.  Anybody out there have thoughts on if or where it'd be worth a try to find some grouse on some after work weeknights?  Weekends just don't come fast enough.  I was thinkin' about maybe Markworth or Tiger State Forests.

Gosh.. Anywhere is possible. Look at the maps and find logging roads that cross or parallel some water drainages. Make sure the creeks have some water in them, then fan out from there. 3rd growth to 5-10yr clearcuts that have been replanted and are growing well. Alders on the fringes. Do some driving.. You'll see Grouse. Do some walking, you'll probably see more. Keep any eye on the edges of the road.

Hey there, I'm down in Kent and open to doing some exploration if you'd like to meet up. I'm still relatively green, but open to exploring.

Seems to be more grouse this year than in recent years.  Just get out there.........anywhere.

Buy a map of the Snoqualmie National Forest and explore. :twocents:

I have grouse hunted in the Markworth forest for a few years now. I haven't had much luck. I've only seen one while I was hunting. I see them at random all other times of the year while mountain biking there. I was there last week and got rained out.
