'99 Dodge 1/2 ton, 318/5-speed manual. Good all-around truck that sees a lot of use in the hills.
I really like the fact that it was completely paid for years ago!

No kidding. I walked onto the Ford dealer's lot to check out a new powerstroke F-250... For $40k, or more, I could get one... Out of this boy's pay grade! Nice truck though...

I really really liked my '94 3/4 ton chev that was paid for. i knew where it had been, what work had been done to it, what minor glitches it had, etc. since day 1 of it's life till some bastages stole it along with my driftboat trailer out of the yakima canyon a couple years ago.
truck was found 2 weeks later in yakima, but totalled.
now i have a stinkin' car payment again. i love my truck now but hate my payment.

Damn Guy, thats "my truck" I was referring to earlier. Looks better with the canopy off and a moose rack in back though.

Boneaddict - yup - I think your moose antlers look better than my little 3x3 mulie too! And I prefer driving the truck w/o the canopy - especially during deer season... Unless I'm living out of the back of the truck, which I've been known to do.
Trucks are mighty handy - darned shame they're so thirsty and expensive... Have considered going to a smaller rig, like a Ford Ranger or a Toyota Tacoma - but... This one is paid for and I know where it's been and what kind of care it's had...
Doggone V8's aren't going to be any fun to feed when gas hits $4/gallon - I may be taking the little Subaru wagon to Wyoming hunting this year... It gets 30 mpg... Your moose rack would crush it though!

Some of my friends can attest and so can Idabooner, I'm a little hard on vehicles. I traded in a Dakota which I absolutely adored for a bigger version. Basically your vehicle, color scheme etc. I added a Warn wench on the front of it which probably got me into as much trouble as it got me out of. I'll try to get the picture I am referring too so you know what I am talking about. There is nothing better than a sweet truck. Sometimes more dependable than the wife.

Here I was heading home from my first moose hunt. I think my paint job had suffered a few hits. Believe it or not, thats the same color as yours. Man I miss that truck. I'm just not liking my new one as much.

I'm not sure what you are talking about when you say worn wench...better not let the wife see that!
I think a warn winch will get you out of a few mud holes that a worn wench gets you into
anyway....like I said earlier my hemi will pass anything but a gas station...the old ford was paid for but worn out...trucks are beautiful creatures! doug your old dakota was good until that rock that somehow got lodged underneath it!

Yeah, that was pretty embarassing. High centered in the parking lot.
Dang that was an expensive coyote outing. It never really did work quite right after that. Speaking of Worn Wenches, I was thinking this morning I've been through 5 trucks and only 2 wives, maybe its time to upgrade.

i had 5 different trucks with my wife before i married her. i'm on #5 right now.
i don't keep them very long either by my choice or someone else's choice...(see prior post)
i'll be keeping this one a while. gonna pay it off here pretty quick.
