REVERE WILDLIFE AREA???
« on: September 17, 2009, 01:09:00 PM »
So from the sounds of things it doesn't look like the Swanson Lakes wildlife area has any Whitetail for me and my boy to hunt on. :(  How about the Revere Wildlife Area?  What can anyone tell me about this place?  It is about 2300 acres of WDFW land about 6 miles south of Lamont.  There is also about 13000 acres of BLM land just SW of the Revere area that would be a spot to go as well.  I am Hunting the Late Whitetail hunt Nov 7-19... For 3 point or better  :o Would this be a spot that I should do some scouting on?  I am trying to get Info on the East side so that I can make a weekend Journey over to and scout several "GOOD" areas.
Thanks again for any information

This area gets hammered by both deer and upland hunters. It is more of a Muley area anyways. If you go here you won't be alone and the pheasant guys will be making a lot of noise  :bash:

Which permit do you have? Is it the Palouse late whitetail permit?  If so, you ought to look at the units from Spokane south to the Snake River. I'd be hunting 139 or 142 if I had that permit. Go where the whitetails are!

I also hunt Revere at night for coons.  That area does get alot of pressure but man have I seen hordes of mulies.  I've have ridden my mule through that country a few times in the spring, it's awesome to see all the mulies.  Never seen a whitetail down there.  If your able I would hit the Palouse as well, they have not suffered nearly as much as the NE deer have.

with the fact that you have the late hunt you may want to make a trip over sometime before general modern season and knock on some doors, with the later date on your tag asking this late may not hurt, ive always seen a lot of whitetails out around davenport but i know its mostly private land, other than that as stated may want to look more towards 139 and 142

All the whiteys around Davenport are north of town. My family grew up in town and when you go south it turns into Muley country. But north of town there are alot of whiteys. I have killed three northeast of town about 10 miles. It is true though that all the land is locked up private land. The locals are real picky about who hunts the opening weekend. But during the week you might have a little better luck getting on somebodies land. Check out my pictures on my profile and see the whiteys I took. It's to bad that the northeast corner of the state got hit hard last winter. The Colville national forest is alot of land to hunt. Real thick too.
