Where to go around Tacoma?
« on: September 17, 2009, 03:26:53 PM »
Friends,

Fairly new to Washington.  I want to get out and fish a bit this weekend, cook some dutch oven biscuits, shoot some cans, and in general vacate the house and the city.

Any advice on where to go?  Unfortunately camping isn't really an option this weekend, but I'd like to get to a place where catching a few trout is not out of the realm of possibility, and that isn't too overrun with people.  Within about 40 miles or so of Tacoma or Olympia?  I'd prefer a place with improved campsites, a picnic table at least.  lake or river, either one is fine.

Thanks,

Dan

Try here for starters

South side of Alder Lake, Riffe Lake, and Cowlitz river, Cispus river just a few to look into.

Thank you, Alchase!

Alder Lake looks perfect for what I have in mind.
