Attack of the crows.
« on: September 16, 2009, 06:07:27 PM »
Went out calling for predators on Monday night.  Didn't have any luck with the mammals but I did have about a hundred crows show up.  I was using some rabbit distress on my e-caller and had about a dozen Stellar Jay's show about and raise heck.  Well that got the attention of a nearby group of crows.  Well after about twenty minutes the crows just kept coming and coming.  The lighting was poor and my little point-n-shoot could not focus through the trees but you can hear the audio.  There was a couple of points where they all land and stop squawking and then go crazy again.  It was really loud in person and it was raining pine needles and leaves all around me.  You just never know what you will call in.

Ah man that sucks.  I get ravens, crows, hawks, jays, and all sorts of other birds all the time.  Normally Im happy when I get birds making a lot of noise.  I think it means Im doing it right and it might help attract a predator. This was just unusual because there were SO many crows.  I really wish the video would have been better.

Billythekidrock was over at my old place last year and we set up his fox pro next to my archery target and started playing crow in distress.  Had about 30 - 40 crows flying over us in about 2 minutes.

We were up IN CF messing around with the called and saw their were about 100 crows up in a bunch of trees.  So we set it up and started crow in distress and about 300 + crows came out of the trees and started circling him.   :chuckle:

I was just  thinking of putting a post for crow hunting, now I found one. Where is this spot for crows? I love crow hunting.
