Teanaway Late Bull Hunt
« on: December 21, 2007, 06:29:20 PM »
Anyone have one of the late Teanaway bull tags?  I saw a nice 6 X 6 this evening in that unit with a smaller bull.

There are quite a few elk running around this unit right now.  Unfortunetly I came upon a cow that must have been shot or something and was never recovered, found her and the crows.  She looked in great condition so i'm just speculating she was shot.

I had that tag last year.  Most of the elk had gone east when it was time to hunt.  There were still a few around and I was able to hunt on private land and kill a mature bull.  That time I only heard of a couple other bulls being killed, one shot illegally in the town of Roslyn, but after looking at the game report, everybody got one.  It's a great permit to draw if the snow doesn't get too deep and all the elk leave the public land.

Yeah that bull shot in Roslyn stirred some stuff up that's forsure.  The snow here is deep now and most of the tracks we see are heading east.  I wonder where everyone filled their tags at.  I personally dont agree with this hunt though, WDFW is really trying to hammer this herd out here and getting pressured from August-Feb (Advanced hunters) must really put some stress on them.
