Congrats on a fine California Bighorn!  Sounds like it was definitely well earned.  I used to watch those sheep pretty closely when I traveled over Highway 2 alot.

The "178" reference comes from a post on the California Bighorn post by 25WSSM:

"the lincoln sheep tag was filled on saturday      nice ram guessing 178"

Might be closer to 158".  Thats what normally gets shot in that unit.  Lots of rams for only one tag.

I agree lots of Rams..Also there are 3 different groups that I know of.  Only one gets hunted all the time.  Great population however so is the human population growing down in that area..lots being carved up and sold all over.  I wish they would buy some habitat for the sheep down there before its all gone (occupied)   :twocents:
