Foxpro XR6
« on: October 05, 2009, 08:32:06 PM »
A buddy and me noticed the coyote madness thread and it got us thinking about trying to get a few coyotes.  I figured it would be easier to use an electronic call than to be effective with a mouth call. I was looking to get an electronic caller and saw the FoxPro XR6 on sale at Cabelas.  Anyone have experience with this call or advice on another electronic call that may work better for me?

Thanks for the advice.  So if I am reading your post correctly you say I can call them and they have rebuilt callers for a reduced price?

Go to the website Foxpro.com or something like that. I havent been there for a while but they used to have specials. Also, they'll load the sounds you want instead of just getting what comes with them when you buy from a retail outlet. They used to have refurbished models on the site a lot. The way it works is that someone will send in there FX3 for a FX5 and get a credit for the one they sent in. Then Foxpro rebuilds the 3 and re-sells it. So refurbished doesn't necesarily mean your buying one that was defective. It could have simply been an upgrade. I have an FX 3 and while sometimes I think more sounds would be cool it's really plenty for me to have 32.

BTW just because you buy a Foxpro doesn't mean every coyote in earshot is going to come running. They help, but they arent foolproof.

Thanks for all of the advice guys. I realize that an electronic caller isn't going to call in all the coyotes.  It will do a much better job than I can do with a mouth call until I become a litte more proficient using one.  Thanks again for the advice.
