Jackelope, you "Old Salt" you :P

Is it wrong to post that anyone holding a tag for a unit that they are wondering if there is any information on should try accessing  the little box next to the icon that has the letters s e a r c h on it? :twocents:

Now that that's over... :chuckle:  Get out there and put what time in you have learning the country Carbonkid.  There's still plenty of time.

Carbonkid, where is home for you? I ask because I'm wondering if distance is keeping you from traveling to this unit to do some scouting and familiarization. If you can't make it over in the next couple of weeks to scout, I would recommend that you get there a couple of days early to scout immediately before the season.

Go scout!  There's a lot of good deer out in that unit.  We duck hunt that area and always see lots of good deer sign.

Check for trails leading from bedding areas to water and fields.  With it so dry out there and the ash in the ground it can be hard to tell how recently trails are being used.  We've kicked lots of deer out of the cattails out there before.  And those russian olives are home to some nice deer.
