Looks like I can buy two doe tags when I get there.

If I were you I wouldn't wait until you get there, just a suggestion ;)

Hmmmm, I asked them about a month ago and they didn't act like it'd be a big deal to get them when I come out. Maybe I'll call again today. Thanks.

I know this is a crappy pic but this was my best.  Got him in 1997, public land, SE Montana.  He barely missed the book.

RPM-- Good luck on the hunt.  I am sure you have hear this, but it is worth repeating.  The ears are roughly six inches long.  Use them as your first guide.  Second, if the ears are below the prongs you are usually going to be at least 13".  If you are looking for length that will help a bunch.  If you are looking for score you need to look at mass.  You get 4 measurements for mass on a lope, this is really where you can score.  2 above the prongs and 2 below.  My 2 pictures above score with in an inch of each other.  One is tall the other has mass.  Both make Pope and Young, not even close to Boone and Crocket.  P and Y is 67, B and C is 81.  Both those lopes were right at 70".  Hope that helps a little.  You will have a blast!!

are you going to wyoming? there won't be any shortage of doe tags based on the homework i have done. don't know for sure, but thats what it seems...you should buy them and you should fill them. they don't give a lot of meat...the more the merrier.

Doublelung would know for sure.

No doubt. We did see some badgers, coyotes and a few fox. The landowners shot some very NICE mule deer on their property over the years.

Here's my 09 'lope.  Three hour spot and stalk on public land, got him at 14 yards.  He'll make Pope and Young and maybe even Boone and Crockett!
