Looks to me like you have enough info already with previous conversations and scouting trips.  Keep your determination up and you'll have fun.  It's not an easy hunt and you will work to find good bucks.

Earn this buck through you own scouting and hard work!  And don't be disappointed if you go home empty handed, most do with this tag!

Jstone-Thank you and good luck to your son, and hopefully you will have time to get your elk ;)
Buckhorn2-Thanks for the encourgement:)
HardCorpsHuntr-If I eat my tag I'll be very sad and I will have to deal with my family for missing Thanksgiving, lol. Usually when I put my mind to something, I get it done, but I have heard of the hardships of this hunt, so thanks for the head's up ;)

Good luck on your hunt.  I can't remember, but did you end up getting that Nikkon rangefinder?  What do you think of it?

SpokaneSlayer- Thanks! Yes I got the Nikkon Archers Choice rangefinder and I love it. I used my old one and compared it to the Nikkon, when shooting downhill/uphill I was 5 yds. off, and that wasn't a real steep hill.

Outstanding!  Mine served me well during the early season.  Only got one shot and it was uphill.  The range was dead on but I must have pushed the arrow to the right, missing right in front of the buck's chest.

I'm glad I got the Nikkon, I want to be right on, not 5 yds. off. That would suck to miss cause I was off by 5 yds. due to an uphill/downhill shot, but I've seen in Entiat that may be the shot I'll get, not much flat ground there:)
Ya the left and right thing, no rangefinder for that.

This is one of many pic's I took this last weekend in the Entiat unit. Look's like fall might be a little short lived:) At least I'm hoping.

There is a little snow up on the higher elevations of the unit now. It sounds like there will be more on thursday night.   There have been a few moving down....but not in any big numbers yet.   Good luck on your hunt
