Big bear ( 1 or 2 )
« on: October 22, 2009, 11:28:13 AM »
Do you think this is one bear or two bears? I have no luck finding the bucks only raccoons, doe, bear.

First bear. When I went and checked the cameras today I put a mineral lick out for the deer and found the block about 20 feet away. Notice how the block is gone in the other pictures.

second bear

I wouldn't shoot a bear over a mineral lick. It could be perceived as baiting bears. Even if you put it out for deer or elk. Especially if you keep seeing bears near the mineral lick. They must be attracted to it if they keep coming back.

Nice looking bear. I would bet that is the same bear not two different bears. It is coming in about the same time in every photo.

I'm not hunting these bears. I have been taking pictures of them for the last two years. I could have shot a bear a couple times over the last two years but have not. Just like the pictures of them.

Doesn't mind the flash? It might be the corn not the salt that he is after.

I don't know bear sizes very well but I'm going to say BIG bear with a very nice coat.

Here is one from earlier in the year from the area that I planned on hunting. This looks like a smaller bear. See my stand in the back corner?  Only seen a smaller two point buck on the camera. Maybe something bigger will come by during late archery.
