Be proud that those swimming cans of dogfood do not like you..............

I do not blame your buddy..........who wants their name as the state record holder for a chum anyway.

Kinda like having the record for pinks.

Hey, I had the state record for Carp for 23 years....until recently.... :cryriver:

And yes, I wore it proudly....any state record accomplished by a 16 year old is a good record.... :chuckle:

Why fish for chum when there are plentiful, edible fish available?

Chums are good for one thing.......feeding smolt. They are river fertilizer.

Guess that means more for you, eh?

They have the strength of kings and the antics of silvers, bottom line is they are fun to catch!!!

Besides the fun factor I keep a couple every year for the roe, it makes great steelhead bait and gets me through the season.

Strength of kings, antics of silvers.............

Don't forget, skin of a leper, mold, and loose, large eggs that need spawn sack netting to keep them together.

Put em in your net, and the damn thing gets all gunked up with sloughed off chum.

If they are the greatest, why don't anybody get em mounted? Ever see a taxidermist advertise he mounts chums?

They are barred up in the salt, and their pale, soft meat takes magic to firm up and give a palatable flavor.

Best way to eat chums is to bury them in the garden, and wait till next falls corn/tomatoes.

Yeah, that is about as good as they get.

Rare, in that condition and you know it. Lets see a pic with a limit of em like that.

Still aint eatin it.

Snow on the ground means there are better fish available.

I like going and catching them once in a while. I don't keep them unless someone asks me for some smokers, then I'll bring em home and give them away. I have never been able to catch, 60+ kings or silvers in a day, done it a couple of times on the dogs.
