Making these cages in differnt sized and differnt styles.
All styles have Spring loaded doors with up to 150 pound of downward pressure.
Trigger is adjustable for pressure required to trip
this one was built "INDUSTRIAL" for a government contract, but can be made to have Less weight....
Aprx cost is the same or less then the koro or bailey baskets(depending on size and style)

The side door entry ...... Works great.... DOWNFALL,,,,,,, when the door is opeen and the trap set on an incline or "Shelf" in the water....it is a little top heavy and need staking,,,,
Double door.........can be set above the water of below.....One or two door open...

Are you selling these or just building for yourself?

I built them to sell on "Maintainable Contracts" for Government job, but have had many inquires into building "custom traps"....and do so upon request with a deposit....
I also have the patented trigger system available ......It can be adapted to any cage configuration and fire up to 5 doors

The cage in the video is 76 pounds, before powder coating.....
It was Over built to prevent thief and Vandalism, because it will sit in the same location year after year, all year long. It will also be monitored using a camera with wireless access......
Machias? How many have you captured using conventional cage traps?
How are you/ and what are you using for bait/lure?
Any damage or escapes? And what "class" does the "Average" beaver fall under? (kit, Juvenile, sub adult or adult)
I am guessing that the one pictured is a "sub adult" (2 year old)?
I have never had consistent luck with "Conventional" cages......And had a door torn off a 1081 havafart.... (good otter trap)

The one in the photo is a 39 pound adult. Probably caught 30 the past three years using apples. Biggest one I have caught is a 46 pounder in a conventional cage trap. Most during the summer and early fall. I have to pre-bait with apples, but once they taste them, they really like them. No damage to the traps yet.
