WOW, I cannot believe no one said anything about the most comfortable, best USA built boot out there today. Redwings. I have a pair of 606 Redwings and love them. It's there boot with all the commercials that you can where all day and your feet won't feel like they have been in a boot. It's true, great boot, never have leaked. I paid $220 for em and coat em up with Obenhaufs boot grease. Obenhaufs is the best boot grease there is. Built by firefighters to withstand chemicals, heat and water. Get an american boot and an american grease.

Redwings and Obenhaufs. NOTHING BETTER
Hunt em, Kill em, Eat em. Do not hunt em if you aren't going to eat em.

how can ANYONE wear danners? :chuckle:

Thats funny there!!! I guess everyones foot is exactly the same shape as yours :dunno:...

I have been wearing Danners since '91, mainly work boots like the Rainforest or Hood light. Now I am an office puke I have been wearing the Pronghorn series and the Frontier in 600 gram for cold weather, love those boots for what I do. Granted I don't put 20 miles a day like some of you, but they have been comfortable and I have never had a problem with them the first year I use them. After a few years they may start leaking, but that is to be expected. My wife has a pair of the Danner Grouse a womens boot, she has had them for 8 years with no leaks and they are still comfortable. They have the air bob sole and she really likes them.

I do agree that the quality has gone done since they started making some of them in China.....

Wow people are passionate about their boots.  Kennetrek's no doubt about it, by far the best, most comfortable boot I have worn in the woods, won't look at any other brands anymore.

I wear the Schnee's Sheep Hunters by Lowa.  They are a Great boot.  I have had them now for 4 seasons and they are still going strong.

10 year old Rocky Bear Claws.  I only wear them when I am in the woods hunting and no other time.  They still have a few years left in them.  After my last 2 pairs of Danner Ft. Lewis boots I swore that I would never buy from that company again.  They both lasted less than 6 months of light use before they fell appart.  They were never waterproof and squeeked like I had mice in the soles.

I just ordered the jackals for early bow for elk and deer season for late elk and late deer season I wear the Canadians all from danner.   The Jackals will fit like a glove.  My uncle has had the same pair of grouse for the past 15 years and still no leaks.  I would definately shop around and try on every pair you can.  I will tell you one thing for sure, the stitching is everything when it comes to boots.  Danners that are built with molded soles will last if you take extra care of them (Proghorns, jackals) clean them and moisturize them after most outings.  The Canadians and hoods danner lights exc. will with stand a lot of neglect.  Just make sure you clean and moisturize them after every season.

Russell Moccasins for me.  Expensive but well worth it.  First pair lasted me 10years till my foot grew.  Now a buddies kid is wearing them.  Got me a new pair this year, first pair they made wrong.  They stepped up and made me a new pair and let me keep the original pair until they had me the replacement pair.  I am sure lots hunt as hard or harder than I do, but i am also sure I hunt harder than most.  These boots took all theabuse I could give them in nasty terrain and stayed in good shape.  the leather is silicone tanned so no Gortex and no leaking.

Meindls,Wore them in Alaska last year Moose hunting for two weeks and the only time my feet got wet was when I fell in the river and the water went over the top.

Loved my old Rocky Pro Hunters, the best boot I ever owned, but when they finally wore out, the new cheap Rocky boots made today looked and felt terrible.  I switched to the Danner Full Curl and the are very comfortable, dry and well made.  I've put a lot of mile on them the last two seasons and they still show no sign of wear.  Plenty of support and I like them almost as well as the Pro Hunters of 11 years ago.
