Got a little surprise while sneaking up on a big bull
« on: October 31, 2009, 11:45:05 AM »

I saw a beautiful five point bull elk while hunting earlier this year, so I was trying to close the distance to get a picture of him (I was hunting early deer muzzle) and I got the surprise of my life.

Behind some bushes only fifteen yards away, I saw elk antlers moving in a feeding motion.  Somehow I had stumbled upon a four point raghorn satellite bull without him knowing about me!  Ha!

So I got a picture, but my camera doesn't have a great zoom, so this is what I got.

Well, ok, you're right.  As I think about it, there's been tons of 'surprises of lifetimes.'  I guess it was just 'one hell of a surprise!' :chuckle:

to me its always just cool to see elk, even if you can't shoot them. i have hunted a very hard game unit to kill elk for a few years now and some times we go a whole season without seeing elk. i love to just see them i hunted the rimrock unit this year and that was cool i got to see elk they were just way to many miles away :chuckle: except for the group we got into and another one bites the dust yeah!

I love being in the woods, and finding an animal I had no clue it was there.
By my honorable conduct as a hunter let me give a good example and teach new hunters principles of honor, so that each new generation can show respect for their god, other hunters and the animals, and enjoy the dignity of the hunt.

Calling an illegal alien an 'undocumented immigrant' is like calling a drug dealer an 'unlicensed pharmacist'.
