Nice lookin pup... and a good mix too. Are you gonna train him yourself. I trained my choc. lab for upland birds from a book I bought, can't remember the name of it....I have it around somewhere. Written by a guy who looks alot like Einstien. Anyway, I followed that book to the T and my lab turned into the best hunting dog I've ever had.

I bought a book called "Game Dog" by Richard A. Wolters that i plan to use to train him.  Hopefully this book has some good information.  I think it might be written by the same author of yours.

Does nayone have any good recomendations on referance books they have used for training?

Yep...thats the guy, it might be the same book. I did exactly what that book said and the dog turned out to exceed my expectations tenfold. Best damn dog I ever had. If I ever get another hunting dog I'll do the same thing. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Best of luck to you and your dog and keep me posted on the progress if you don't mind.

You might want to take a look at "The Labrador Shooting Dog" by Mike Gould. I am using that book and a few others to train my pup.

Cheers!
