Pintails
« on: November 13, 2009, 06:00:30 AM »

Anyone seeing any?  I’ve shot 2 hens so far early this season but I’m still looking for that first Bull Sprig.  I’ve seen a few a nosebleed altitudes but I haven’t figured out where they are going or where they are coming from.

I have been seeing a lot of them.  Just no dandy spraugs with long pins.
Cut em!

Couple weeks ago there were huge numbers on the bays east of Anacortes but haven't seen too many lately, though haven't been through the area much either.

Not many yet out here on the island.  However,  big flocks of mallards and widgeon are showing up....  :IBCOOL:

I think we had 4 or 5 amongst 4 hunters today, my first duck this morning was a boy pin, but the pin was not more than 1" or so. If I get a good pin later this season I'd like to mount one.

We shot some 2 weeks ago. One had good color just no tail yet. :( We ended up getting 3 total, only one had any color. We where up by Cusik on the Pend Orielle.

Had flocks of spraug coming in, but didn't see any worth shooting.  No big pins yet or an early push of immatures.  I will start taking some drakes as soon as I see some long pins.
Cut em!
