From what I hear the bow has NO hand shock at all and is whisper quite. Think about it, a aluminum bow is basically a tuning fork. Bow companies have tried to eliminate hand shock and noise but you can only do so much with the material you are using. Carbon fiber does not vibrate like metal resulting in no hand shock and the least amount of noise. This is a huge step forward in eliminating what archers have been trying to do since the first aluminum bow hit the market.

When was the last time you saw a riser look like this.

I think bow manufacturers have done quite well eliminating hand shock in their bows. I don't notice any in my 08 bowtech general and it was the quietest bow on the market that year as well. There are plenty of other bows out there that have no hand shock and are plenty quiet for half the price of what hoyt wants for that bow.

I have purchased Hoyt bows for 4 straight years and know how they pride themself i

You buy a buy per year!?  :o :twocents:X100

Not a hard thing to do, you just have to buy one and sell it each year. You only end up spending a few hundred a  year for a new bow.

XXX, can you give us a little more info about the draw cycle, how the the bow felt after the shot, noise, etc? You said it is not fast.Did you get a chance to chrono it? If so what where the actual speeds and what was the grain of arrows you shot?

Yes I sell Hoyts... Dustin my partner at the shop shoots them he is shooting the new AlphaBurner great bows, like I said, I like the Maxxis31 better..the draw is the same ..same limbs same cams...so that part feels the same. The riser is cool but you still get feedback from it  as for speed...IBO 318...not fast...just about every bow out can do that, so thats why I say not that fast. we had about 5-6 guys shoot the bow and no one said it was that great and not for 1600.00. If they put that riser on a Target bow then fine your avg. hunter can not see and feel the difference in the riser. if you like the longer ATA bows get the Maxxis 35 same speed 318. for a lot less $$. most guys want to see the bow prices come down and most are liking the shorter bows. 4 out of 5 bows sold are 33" and under...I asked the ? a few months back what do you guys want in a bow for 2010...and NOT one said longer ata, slower and more money....I hope Hoyt can do this riser cheeper in a few years. So if anyone wants to buy one I will sell you one,  :chuckle: :chuckle:.

Thanks for the info XXX.  You're right about about the ridiculous price tag!  I will be looking at a new bow this spring, and was excited to see new Hoyt's.  Will give them all a few shots, before I pull the trigger on one.  The Maxxis could be the one.

XXX,did you guys shoot it with any arrows heavier than IBO? I am sure you know that most of us need to shoot more than a 300 grain arrows to be leagal here in washington. I am just wondering what the bow would do with an actual hunting arrow. So far the bows is 1 for 1,one shop say it's the best bow made and you guys are saying its average at best.

It's more than Average, its a good bow ..but not 1600.00 good. we shot it with 420 grain arrow but not to see the speed. I live in Washington so yes I know about the arrow thing 6 grains per lb...the best thing is to go shoot it and see what YOU think.

Doug over at Skookum in Puyallup has one on the shelf. I picked it up today and I have to say it felt pretty darn good in the hand. It looked a little odd from the front but once you picked it up that all went away. Still way too much money if you ask me.

Hoyt is very debatably the best bow company on earth.  They have been doing it for the longest, and they are more universally accepted by world class tournament archers and hunters than any other brand.  If they say it is the best..... it is the best:) They wouldn't put their name and a $1500 price tag on it if it wasn't.  They design and build a lot of bows that never go public, trust me, this wasn't something created and priced without some of the greatest engineering scrutiny of all time.

Also, some of you are missing the idea of the lightweight.  This is a 35" bow, it is not a speed demon but designed to be a slightly longer more forgiving bow that still has some juice.  Now you get both, long and friendly with a nice light feel in your hand.  Like everything, the price will eventually come down.

This will change bow design over the decade or two.  More companies will attempt to imitate and fail to duplicate.  Wish I could afford one!  At least the Alphamax 35 will be everywhere on Ebay now! :twocents:
