I just reread the post and maybe I missed something or maybe something has been deleted, but I don't see where it says he wounded 2 deer? :dunno:
I didn't say it was your fault, I said I was blaming you.

Quote
I had an arrow nocked and I quickly ranged the buck at 33 yards, put my 30 yard pin on his vitals and let the arrow fly. It nocked him off of his feet and he slid down the hill to within 15 yards of me and locked up in some down timbers. He struggled for a moment and stopped. I thought he was dead so I didn't put another arrow in him. Within less than a minute he pops back up on his feet and takes off up the hill after his does.

I went back expecting to find him piled up on the steep hillside but I looked for over 6 hours with no blood   Never found him.

The next day my buddy see's this deer in my drvie way. I got nothing but meat, and hit him really hi. I'm hoping that all I did was make an old buck even smarter.

If I misinterpreted that, I'll apologise, but I read that as hitting two deer with arrow. Neither of them killed/recovered. If a deer falls down after the shot, I'm assuming a hit. If a visual recollection says that he 'got nothing but meat', I'm assuming that the arrow struck fur also.

None of you get me wrong, I highly respect most bow hunters. I seem to recall an elk hunter that got pretty tore up this season after wounding some game.

I'm not trying to peck a fight here.. Maybe I'm wrong in my assumptions but the way this is written I don't think the two deer hanging in the photo are the ones he shot at.

That's one of the gals on his "Hot Chicks" calendar that he proudly displays in his shop.  That's why I don't go in there anymore.  :yike:

Sounds like one deer to me too, either way, I'm sure he didn't intend to wound any deer.
