Hancock is by Kapowsin on the back side of Graham, you can get a pass if you drive over there or contact them thru the phone, it is a good place to hunt, you just have to spend time in there. THey only give out a limited number of passes so first come first serve

They say do not get a pass, because they want less hunters in there, get one and hunt it. If you like it then continue to get them if not then dont get one again

Hancock is a lot more than just Kapowsin,  LOts of Hancock land to hunt that doesnt require anything but feet to walk with.  And some of it is the best Elk and bear hunting in the state. IMO anyway.

Google Lake Kapowsin, that will get you in the area, then you can go from there, yes it is a lot more land than Kapowsin, you can hit it up around buckley also

I've Never hunted Hancock or any other place that I had to pay for access. While I can understand why folks like hunting places like Hancock, Less other hunters being a big one, I just cant get behind the idea of having to pay to hunt. I'm sure that one of these days All the timber land around here will be pay access like the private land in other states. I'll either be stuck with a million other guys on NFS land or I'll stop hunting all together but I wont pay a trespass fee. As a kid growing up in Aberdeen I could hunt after school just a few min's out of town on Rainier property, if there was a trespass fee back then I doubt that I would have had a opportunity to even start hunting.

Those days are long gone. I pay to hunt Hancock because I live 10 minutes from the gate and I can get away from road hunters in the walk in areas.

Used to be alot of deer in there.  Still a bunch but not what it used to be.  Waaay to many jokers/ road hunters and if you think you can go into a walk in area to get away think again.  That too is over with the a** load of passes they are selling these day. :twocents:  This last year is my last too.

Also Hancock is not just Kapowsin and/or Buckley they also manage Snoqualmie and White river areas that are huge.  Just another "group" that is quote, unquote managing ;) for everything but sustainable yield (trees that is).   >:(  AKA Rape and pillage  :bdid:

The population has suffered over the past few years. I have hunted my whole life in there and will continue to get a pass but overall the success rates in there are probably around 10 to 15 percent. The guys that have hunted for years in there and spend a lot of time in there can always get a buck but true trophies are hard to come by. If you have never hunted it expect to have a tough time finding deer during the regular season unless you have stormy weather. Sunny days you will be lucky to even see a doe unless you have done prescouting and even then sometimes you will get blanked. There is better hunting elsewhere but I live close and tradition means a lot to me. The elk hunting is fantanstic but you will never get a tag and the guys who draw the tags never seem to be the hardcore hunters who would have a chance at the big bulls. You would have to dig them out of the timber and the guys drawn always want to road hunt and seldom kill anything decent.
