Missing elk hunter
« on: December 02, 2009, 04:14:50 PM »
Just saw this story online at Kiro....I hope they locate him healthy and happy with a big elk down tomorrow.  Looks like he's got a camper on his truck, so hopefully he's just in temporarily stuck somewhere safe with no cell service.

He's probably holed up in a honey hole with a bottle of Jack Daniels.  At least that's what I would be doing.   :dunno:

Perhaps one of the reasons for delay in finding Mr. Bates is that the road is incorrectly cited by KIRO as "Barbara Springs" road when it's really "Barber Springs" road....  hmmmm....

Glad he is o.k. !!!

good news... when i was in Missouri this year we had just got in from the stand and my uncles phone rang. it was the fire chief, there was a hunter missing. so we got dressed and headed out. we searched the property he was hunting from about 7 pm to 230 am. found nothing. the property was only about 600 acres, we had about 50 people looking. they resumed the search the next morning and unfortunately they found him face down with no apparent trauma. he was a 24 year old fire fighter from colorado. if memory serves me his name was Blake. sad situation that undoubtedly plays out many times each year around the united states. just glad that we found this one alive.

Yep, you called it.

That sure is a fine looking truck.  When I read yesterday that it was a '67 ford, I pictured a POS that probably broke down somewhere. :P  I sure was wrong....
