Cory:
Good message but your delivery needs a little work:

I totally agreed with your post up until the point that I read the high school and little girl remark. IMO I feel that your post lost a little credibility by such an antagonistic approach.

Other than that you are spot on.

Feel free to PM me if you dont agree......

I agree cory I don't waterfowl anymore but occasionally see a thread that looks interesting. When I read it (almost everytime) some guy ambushes the poster and the fight ensues. It brings me back to my days hunting waterfowl. Seemed like every guy I ran into was a prick. Wasn't really the case but the bad ones do stand out. I got a note left on my truck once that I ruined somebodies hunt. We had jumped a flock of geese on the property we had permission on, he was hunting the neighboring property. I was livid that someone would leave such a ridiculous not. I wouldn't have been pissed if they jumped them, thats hunting. Early bird gets the worm. he couldn't access the flock anyways as he didn't have permission there. Just a different mentality I guess.

Just a heads up.  The waterfowl mentality is if you ground pound or sneak on a flock they won't be back usually.  Even if they didn't have permission that was probably the roosting spot, so as the birds went for water they probably could have gotten shots or called off groups with the right calling or set up.  Having said that, you definately were in the right as it was your field and not theres.  I'm not one to leave the note, maybe they had to tresspass to leave a note on your rig.  Don't know.  I do know that if someone goes in on a roost and you have scouted and set up say 1/2 - 3/4 mile away your hunt may not be worth a darn or get skunked as you anticipate birds pealing off during the morning.   :twocents:

I think Cory's idea may not work, like most think, but the point of the matter is great and very wise!   everyone just needs to lighten up. I joined this site so I can learn from other waterfowlers and pick up little tips and to find out how the hunting is. Not listen to fighting on a thread..... please everyone stop so this site is enjoyable again.....

I think everyone understands your stance here, and I don't think anyone really disagrees with you.  However, many good waterfowlers - the ones you want to learn from - are serious about what they do, and are turned off by a site that can't host a serious debate or address serious concerns of members.  I've had mostly good interactions on this site, but the issue regarding stolen photographs really dampened my appreciation.

Issues like copyright violation are a big deal, and site members who lie openly to other members detract from the validity and value of the legitimate posts on these forums.  That detraction becomes worse when moderators try and sweep it under the rug instead of addressing it head on.

If you want a site where a few members can come together and post pictures of hunts - the same guys over and over - where no real debate or learning occurs, then, by all means, everyone stay quiet, don't ruffle feathers, and most definitely don't stand up for your beliefs / priorities.

On the other hand, if you want a site where you can expand your knowledge of fowling because members freely exchange, debate, and criticize ideas, then I would suggest that members and moderators here take matters a little more seriously and try and uphold the integrity of this site.

But that's just my .02.

I don't understand what was swept under the rug. If someone posted photos and represented them as their own and the topic or photos were deleted it sounds like all that is needed for an explanation. You folks who want an explanation really want an open forum for argument. Look you're not going to win that argument. From a moderator's perspective there is simply nothing worth talking about when they delete a photo or topic because someone used another person's photo(s) and did not have permission or was representing them as their own. It's simply not - sweeping it under the carpet.

And Ray there was no proof that the photos were one person's or another's. The person complaining did not show proof of where they were gleaned from. Jackalope did that on his own and I then deleted them. As far as I am concerned if you come here and bitch whine and moan go some where else.

Sounds like nothing much to discuss then. When they were clearly determined as someone else's they were removed. The member was confronted. Let's move on. Rehashing the issue and suggesting it was swept under the rug is clearly not factual as far as I can tell then.... I agree some people only come here to start trouble or to act like they are holier than thou and ultimately it sounds as if the correct decisions were made. It looks like someone else who is still complaining has the mud on their face to me.
