Going to go out and check some cams and put a few more up. I will be dragging the powder pole around just incase I see a buck.

If Eric and the boys can't find a deer tell them they can always try fishing  :dunno: After all how many deer can you guys eat in one year? :P
Good luck!!

Kris

We have some humpy's still in the freezer:). Brandon is VERY frustrated with the blacktail...VERY!!
Are you serious..we could probably eat 4 deer a year!! lol. With Eric being laid off, that is all we have been eating. We need to shoot some grouse, it's the closest thing to chicken that I will be eating for a LONG time...unless work gets better.  :'(

Wish I had more time! I'll be heading out for elk soon, but probably for just a day hunt. :(

I hope you get something. When you hunt hard, you appreciate any animal you see or even come close to.

It should pick up for him in about a month.  I think Shell is going to take about 50 guys the first part of the year. I understand what you guys are going through. We have a baby due Jan 12th and that's about the time the Job I'm on is going to finish up.

Hunted this past week in 501. Jumped a few bucks in the repod, seen a few driving in and out during before/after shooting hours, seen sign here and there but nothing really positive hunting up high between 1500-2000 feet.

just waiting for archery to finish up so I can fill the last cow tag.  I chose to wait until the archery folks moved on. I shall write a great story when my season finishes on the 15 of Dec or when we drop our last elk.  Man I have seen so many elk hunting in the willipa hills,  have also talked to a lot of very helpful people while camping and hunting. ;)

We went out this morning. Got up early and went to walk in...HOLY SMOKES!!!!! Change of plans for the area. We should've just yelled " Hey Deer..here we come" never mind the loud a$$ people walking up this road covered in frozen leaves! They are Not here to shoot you:)
We had to go to another spot and walk roads that weren't covered in frozen leaves!!! Didn't see any deer. But, it wasn't for lack of effort.

I went and sat in my secret spot freezing my butt off..... I called it quits at noon. And again, not one single deer.  :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash:
