Pintail Drake with Pin Feather. 1st of the season.
« on: December 12, 2009, 05:10:38 PM »
It's been a weird season so far on the pintails.  I have been looking each day for a dandy drake.  Finally shot one this morning.  Only one I saw with a pin feather out of about 150+ pintails.
Cut em!
It's not the shells!  It's the shooter!

Yea, Sprig with the long pinners have been pretty slim.  They'll be more showing up as the older birds start into the area now.  I've only taken one with a actual long pintail too.  Lotsa younger drakes around.  Good shooting otherwise though...
