Not trying to hurt any feelings here, but I believe it is illegal to use any species of lamprey for bait. If your doing so, you might not advertise it. I believe they changed the rules on it this last year. I agree that they are a hell of a bait and work great.

No feelings hurt here, but thanks for the information.. Haven't been able to find it anyhow....  A couple old timers keep telling me they are the very best.


Just looked it up on the web, your 100% correct, No Lampreys what-so-ever as bait.......  Thanks for keeping us straight... :yike:

That is the million dollar question. I have picked them up in 2 feet and as deep as 150 feet. They will be where teh food is. If not getting bites then move!!

My 1st time sturgon fish was in 08' . I got a couple of the guys from work that had never been either to join my son & I. Charterd a trip to get the idea. Had a GREAT day. caught 20+ fish thrw out the day. Along with a few keepers.



My buddy at the end holding the pop can, is the only one on the boat that didn't do so well.
