Best Wild Game Meat
« on: January 04, 2010, 09:10:30 AM »
Lots of us have voted for our worse game meats, so figured I better ask what's everyone's favorite game meat.

I will give you only one vote on this poll, if there is something you like that is not listed, just post and I will add it to the list.

That's a tough one.  Elk for big game, pheasant for bird, halibut for fish.  If I only get one choice I'll go pheasant. (please add)

I have to say Elk. I love pheasent too but didn't see it up there, even if it were I'd still say Elk........because if you only shoot one, you get a lot more meat from and elk than you do a pheasent.  :chuckle:

I went back and forth from sturgeon to elk and finally I asked my wife to help me make the decision- we went with sturgeon. I have yet to find a bad recipe and my mouth waters at the thought of some-yum

It isn't easy to pick just one. Elk is consistently good, but the best meat i ever had was Whitetail tanderloins. I shot a nice fat doe in my inlaws apple orchard in Indiana. The area is surrounded by corn and soy bean fields, oak woods full of acorns. We cleaned her out, cut out the loins, sprinkled on some salt and pepper and grilled em up till they were just warm inside. Yup, thats my pick.  :cue:
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not!
