I have never fished specifically for silvers on Rufus but have caught a few.  We got one around 3 pounds a couple years ago.  We caught them trolling double whammies with worm.  Ive heard guys using kokanee killers ( I think thats what they are called.  They look like a wedding ring)  along the bouey line above the dam.

I used to catch them up there.  Its been several years but if I remember it usually gets good just above the damn in the early spring.  We used wedding rings and white corn or trolled a small pink fly that my dad ties up with a chaser hook.

I know that they can get pretty big.  We got one that was probably 3-4 pounds.  Most have been in the 12-15 inch range if i remember right.  We have never targeted silvers up there, just ran into a few trolling for rainbows.  If you run a double whammy with night crawler and about 1/4 ounce weight i can all but gaurantee fish.  We usually fish the non tribal side along the weedlines, probably 60-70 yards off shore.  But like I said we are generally targeting triploids.

If you catch a silver in Rufus, please post a pic.  They're virtually gone there imo.  For years, it was one of the best kept secrets and under-fished silver fisheries around.  Many well over 18".  Nowdays, NOBODY I know catches them.

Not I personally but talked to my dad on the phone yesterday.  They have been doing some fish and fowl trips in the last couple weeks.  Catching some nice ones on fly.

I have been going there for 13 years and never have caught one of those silvers. I've caught tons of rainbows and get this........ one land locked king. No we didn't have to many beers and yes I know the fish latter stops at CJD. It was a real nice blackmouth about 13 pounds. Has anyone heard of catching kings in there? Sorry to jack your thread.

Yes.  They were commonly caught years ago.  They were a planted fish, like in Lake Chelan.  Haven't heard of one being caught in the last 10 or so years though.  Most ran from 4-8 lbs.  Not doubting you, but a 13 lber would have been a giant!  Have any pics of it, as they are a sweet looking fish with really distinctive spotting on the back.
