:)  I know, Dave has been sending me those photos.  I went to Montana last night and brought my Griff pup home today.  He's perfect.  :)

Antler dogs or bird dogs? GWP's and other versatile dogs are very versatile. Both of my GWPs (2yrs and 1 yr olds) are both Dock Dogs (jumping 20-21 feet), are trained for and find a lot of shed antlers, they both do upland and waterfowl hunting (they are both getting ready for their NAVHDA UT titles) and are of course obedience trained to voice and whistle. Use your imagination. If you can get them to understand what it is you want them to do, when you want them to do it, and YOU can be consistent.... you may be able to have a truly versatile companion! But start them early (8 weeks or sooner)... If you have any questions, please let me know, I'd be happy to help and/or give some advice. There is no better feeling than teaching a puppy to do something and watching it mature and master the skills. And, the compliments from others about your dogs are the icing on the cake.

Dang what a cute pup. I miss those days.  Right now I'm on the other end of the spectrum, with a chocolate lab that's almost 16 years old.  We bought a yellow for her to train six years ago, because we thought she was gonna die, but it aint happening.  Anyhow, I'm thinking I might get a black lab pup when it's time.  I love training puppies, and watching them grow.

Congrats and enjoy!
