Ah yes.  Adam, Little Big Man, Kline.  I have no doubt that he will take a run at being governor.  With Seattle in his back pocket, he might just make it.   :bash:.

Well I guess that is OK since the bullet from my 7mm and 357 revolver are less deadly bullets. WTF

Here is the article.

ASSAULT WEAPONS

Police chiefs call for a state ban

Larry Simoneaux’s Dec. 28 column on assault weapons overlooks a key point. (“Enforce gun laws on books already before passing more.”)

Many semi-automatic assault rifles on the market today can be easily converted to fully automatic operation with minor after-market modifications, and are often purchased with that purpose in mind.

A less obvious point is that, when it comes to taking life, semi-automatic weapons are as lethal as fully automatic weapons, which were banned in the 1930s because police were being gunned down by gangsters. True, a fully automatic weapon can fire far more rounds per second, but the bullet from a semi-automatic weapon is no less deadly.

All told, some 40 police officers across the country were killed by semi-automatic weapons over the last four years. FBI research shows these weapons account for nearly a quarter of police killed in the line of duty. It’s not surprising then that the International Association of Chiefs of Police have called for a ban. Yet, Washington has failed to ban assault weapons.

We have introduced a bill that will ban all future sales of semi-automatic assault weapons. A recent U.S. Supreme Court decision upholding individuals’ rights under the Second Amendment also expressly upheld the rights of states to make reasonable restrictions on dangerous firearms such as assault weapons. This legislation was not introduced to limit the rights of responsible gun owners and is an important step toward ensuring the safety of our police and preventing future large-scale tragedies.

Seattle anti-gunners introduce 'assault weapons ban' legislation SB 6396
« Reply #8 on: January 13, 2010, 10:08:28 AM »
Anti-gun WA senators introduce 'assault weapons ban' legislation

Largely based on cosmetics, this legislation goes after pistols, rifles and shotguns, and a county sheriff says this kind of law won't prevent violent felons from getting guns.

Contains important contact information for Washington State Senate Judiciary Committee.

Unfortunately Diane Farley is my representative and she's in for life. Shoreline is pretty liberal territory. She's an idiot; a typical liberal with typical liberal misunderstandings of the 2nd Amendment and no concept of individual liberties. I'll write her (again) just so she know's I'm watching her but I'm afraid my rantings will fall on deaf ears.
Let's keep up the fight, we will win out in the end. "out of my cold dead hands."
Warning! Do not elect politicians who don't support the 2nd Amendment as the Constitutional framers intended - There are no Collective Rights in the Bill of Rights. America is about Individual Freedoms, not collectivism!

Holy crap, they are shooting for the moon on this one.  Reading 20 (c) for definition of an "assault weapon"

(c) Any semi-automatic pistol, any semi automatic center-fire rifle, or any shotgun with a fixed magazine that has the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds of ammunition.

The key words to look at in this definition is "have the capacity to accept".  This would cover any and all semi-automatic handguns.  (remember its not magazines containing more than 10 rounds, but the firearms capacity to accept.  This definition would also cover any and all semi-automatic rifles that "accept" a magazine.  And any and all shotguns that "accept" a magazine extension.

This one line in this bill would affectivly outlaw the purchase and sale of ALL semi-automatic handguns in the state of Washington.  ALL semi-automatic center-fire rifles AND the sale of all semi and pump action shotguns that have a removable cap from the magazine tube.  With the wording in this bill, my grandfathers old savage pump .300 could be argued as falling under there definition of an "assault weapon"  All it would take is for the ability to build a magazine that accepted 11 rounds that fit into the firearm.  Which pretty much covers any and all rifles and semi-auto pistols.

Reading through this bill, it is more draconian and far reaching than the "assault weapons ban" of 94 ever thought of being.

Other provisions in this bill and the bill in total not only attacks the 2nd amendment rights but also chips away at the 4th as well.

I am sending a second round of letters to my state rep's now that I have read the bill being introduced, which is farther reaching than I even imagined.

The bill says.

Quote
(a) Safely and securely store the assault weapon. The sheriff of the county may, no more than once per year, conduct an inspection to ensure compliance with this subsection

I don't know too many cops that are gonna volunteer to shake down houses with lawabiding citizens with guns... They may choose to be a little less law abiding..  :yike:
